On December 31, 2025, the "150,000 Tons/Year Coal-Based Environmental Protection Carbon Material Project" of Middling Coal Huali Company achieved mechanical completion and officially entered the commissioning phase. This project is defined as the largest and most automated coal-based activated carbon production base in China. This landmark event signifies that the activated carbon industry, especially in the coal-based carbon field, is rapidly evolving towards large-scale, intensive, and intelligent production.

This trend aligns with the overall industry background. Statistics show that China's activated carbon production capacity accounts for nearly half of the global total, yet the market has long exhibited a pattern of "large industry, small enterprises," with enterprises having relatively low average production capacity. The commissioning of large-scale modern projects will significantly drive industry consolidation and technological advancement. Furthermore, there is a high geographical concentration of production capacity, with over 80% of coal-based carbon production concentrated in regions such as Shanxi and Ningxia.

Facing the competition from industry leaders in terms of capacity upgrades, regional activated carbon enterprises need to focus more on niche markets, product differentiation, and the depth of technical services to build their own core competitiveness.
